The Israel Paradox: A Muslim Wake-Up Call

The Jewish people were scattered across the world, abandoned by Allah, yet somehow held onto their unity and focused on the common goal for over two thousand years to establish a nation they could call their own. They did not let anyone or anything get in their way unless it would benefit their mission, and thus did not become distracted from their objective. Today, they are just under 18 million across the planet yet have become a model of what this unity and resolve can achieve. They have their independence, they have their Israel, and they have the rest of the planet, where they covertly rule the hearts and the minds of the general population.

Making ‘Aliyah’

The Hebrew word “Aliyah” literally means ascent or rise, but for generations it has been used to mean “immigration to Israel”.

Every year, thousands of Jews make Aliyah, finding great jobs, warm communities, and a holistic Jewish life. These Olim are writing the next chapter of Jewish History

The Muslims of today have also become scattered, yet we have gone a step further and become fragmented and dilusionized by the distractions of this world, becoming lost to our desires to the point where we have abandoned Allah and any inclination towards establishing His Rule. This Sunnah is not even a goal on the radar of our Scholars and leaders, let alone the average Muslim. Yes, we have a few rituals left here and there, but even these withering flames have gone out in the eyes of our children. 1.7 billion of us and we have nothing to show for it across the world except for a few empty individual achievements granted by the West, so we can celebrate how “master” threw us a bone to keep us sated and catatonic. We are destroying our own countries with our corrupt values and elevating their’s with our diligent work ethic. It isn’t a mystery how we ended up here. As a people, we aren’t even truly successful in the world we so worship and that is a true testament to our state, Subhan’Allah.

“We were the most humiliated people on earth and Allah gave us honor through Islam. If we ever seek honor through anything else, Allah will humiliate us again.” ~ Umar ibn Al-Khattab (RA)

Our Nabi (SAW) gave us the source code and the practical steps for establishing this Deen in a very short time. The Qur’an is our Guide and our salvation. Yet, we have ignored it and chosen to beg for the meager scraps of the disbelievers in exchange for a mortgage, a car loan, “white sounding” children, empty masajid reflective of our empty hearts, and a distorted name that is easy for them to pronounce. What have we truly achieved here and what have we earned for the Hereafter?

The first step to changing our condition is to admit that we have a problem and not always look to see what we are getting right. It isn’t enough. That is like going to work and doing half the job. We have to hold ourselves to a higher standard and account than that. It is time to start looking at why that glass is half empty and what we can do to fill it and fullfil our covenant to Allah SWT and be those that stand up for Islam in the coming years where there will be a great divide in who was genuine and who was an imposter. We have to stop pretending and begin preparing.

So, when the time comes, where will we and our children stand?

The Messenger of Allah SAW said: “It is near that the nations will call one another against you just as the eaters call one another to their dishes.”Somebody asked: “Is this because we will be few in numbers that day?” He said: “Nay, but that day you shall be numerous, but you will be like the foam of the sea, and Allah will take the fear of you away from your enemies and will place weakness into your hearts.” Somebody asked: “What is this weakness?” He said: “The love of the world and the dislike of death.” (Abu Dawud)

A Muslim Wake-Up Call

Right now, we are all divided and walking different paths. This what Shaytan wants and it gives the enemies of Islam too many opportunities to wage war against us. A war that we will never win without the right weapons. It is beautiful to love Allah and the Prophet of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم, but that love should not be mere lip service. It has to mean something and there necessarily has to be action behind that love. If we all truly turn back to the Qur’an and Sahih Sunnah, seek Allah’s pleasure in all we do, abandon the Haram and doubtful matters, then we will be a force to be reckoned with all together as one. Then no one could defeat us or humiliate us, because just like in the Battle of Badr, Allah SWT and the Heavens would be on our side and the enemies of Islam would fall one after another.

“O you who have believed, if you support Allah, He will support you and plant firmly your feet. But those who disbelieve – for them is misery, and He will waste their deeds. That is because they detested what Allah has revealed, so He rendered worthless their deeds.” [The Noble Qur’an 47:7-9]
